Dave Franco

Dave has coached some of the world’s most elite goalies in the world throughout the last 20 years. Jordan Binnington, Curtis Joseph, Jamie Storr, Steve Mason, and Robb Zepp have all spoken about the difference Dave made in their career. Dave has spent his entire career dedicated to excellence in goaltending, from his humble beginnings as a young goalie in Toronto to playing pro in Europe through coaching goalies at the NHL, AHL, OHL, and European Pro Levels. Dave’s unsurpassed knowledge of the position and proven track record of developing talent for the OHL, NCAA, NHL, and European Professional leagues is unrivaled.

Marco Franco

Marco’s clients have included numerous NHL stars, CHL stars, and European Pros. He has traveled the world and his 20 plus years of experience coaching elite-level goalies gives FCGS the unique advantage of having two world-class leaders to build the development programs that produce results unlike any other goalie school in the world. Marco is also a fitness expert who understands each level’s physical requirements to play. He also possesses a pro-level shooting ability that allows Marco to work with pro goalies on particular deficiencies.

How it started…

Curtis Joseph and David Franco

The Franco Canadian Goalie School was initially established by David and his brother Marco in Toronto, Ontario, in 1991. The school has been in successful operation training goalies from all over North America and Europe. It is a full-time school operating all year round, allowing goalies to train seven days a week all year round.

Athletes at all levels have used David’s coaching style and technique. His adaptive and progressive style of goaltending has been successfully recognized and utilized by goaltenders in the NHL, AHL, and OHL. In addition, David’s vast experience and talent in producing and developing young goaltenders have not gone unnoticed. He works with many top teams and player agencies, helping with consulting, scouting, and training new prospects.

The Franco Canadian Goalie School is committed to the development of each athlete. It takes a dedicated and tireless team approach to build a  foundation for success in goaltending. We take great pride in knowing that many of our goaltenders have been selected high in their respective drafts. We also have a significant number of professional and junior alumni who attended our school and continue to be part of the FCGS family!
